Mayana is a health-focused, socially conscious intimate apparel brand that uses materials science, patented construction, and data-informed design to address the physiological realities of women's bodies across every life stage.

At the heart of Mayana is the Aluxtra® bra, the only bra in the world that descends for discreet, undetectable nursing, with no clasps or drop-down cups. Protected by six international utility patents, the design has evolved well beyond nursing. Today it anchors Mayana's growing wireless collection and supports women through perimenopause and menopause, when comfort, breathability, and structural support matter most. We specialize in fuller-cup sizing (H–K), where support is a health need, not a style preference, and serve women from motherhood through menopause and post-mastectomy recovery.

Every design is informed by the people closest to the problem. We work alongside healthcare professionals and our clients to shape what we make, bringing clinical insight and lived experience into each stage of development. Our fabric choices are part of that care: OEKO-TEX certified factories, certified organic cotton, TENCELâ„¢ Modal, and azo-free, PFAS-free dyes, because what sits against your skin all day matters.

Founder Nadine Woods started Mayana in 2010 to create something that didn't exist yet: a brand at the intersection of fashion, health, body image, and sustainability. She wanted intimates that worked with women's changing bodies rather than against them, and she wanted to change the conversation about those bodies, too. Those conversations have happened in the street and stages as much as in the studio, through events and activations across Toronto, from wild postings throughout the city to a breastfeeding flash mob at the Juniour Jays Game, creating space for women to share their stories and talk openly about what their bodies actually need.

As a certified Ontario Made FemTech company, Mayana designs and manufactures entirely in-house at our studio in Toronto's Junction neighbourhood. Our commitment to women's health, equity, and responsible manufacturing has earned Mayana award recognition for leadership in both sustainability and social justice.

Mayana has been a Venture-in-Residence at 91Ó°ÊÓ's Social Ventures Zone for eight years, growing alongside a community that believes business can be a tool for equity.
