The Master of Cybersecurity is a one-year, course-based program designed to provide you with essential technical and business knowledge. The Master of Cybersecurity program invites applicants from computer science, business technology management, electrical engineering, etc., as well as exceptional individuals from non-traditional backgrounds with relevant lived or professional experience.
Program specific requirements
Academic requirements:
- Four-year bachelor鈥檚 degree from an accredited institution in a related field (e.g., business technology management, computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering)
- Minimum grade point average (GPA) or equivalent of 3.0/4.33 (B) in the last two years of study

Curriculum overview
The Master of Cybersecurity is a one-year, course-based program designed to provide you with essential technical and business knowledge. Our interdisciplinary approach combines cyber defense and network security with risk management and governance.
Course delivery
Courses run 12 weeks per term, meeting once a week for a 3-hour block on campus, Monday to Friday, between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. While some individual courses may include online or hybrid formats, students are expected to pursue their studies on a full-time basis.

Funding, scholarships and awards
As this program is not funded by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities, students are not eligible for OSAP and other provincial government funding, such as OGS. Students are encouraged to contact other funding agencies they wish to apply to in order to confirm funding eligibility.

The program is designed for both cybersecurity professionals seeking advancement and professionals from related fields who want cybersecurity expertise. Relevant experience can strengthen an application but is not necessary.
Both. It is an interdisciplinary program intended for future cybersecurity leaders that combines:
- Technical cybersecurity skills (network security, cryptography, security architecture, etc.)
- Business and leadership skills (risk management, governance, compliance, business continuity, etc.)
As the Master of Cybersecurity program is not funded by Ontario's Ministry of Colleges and Universities, students are not eligible for OSAP or OGS funding.
Professor, Department of Computer Science
The founding graduate program director of the Master of Cybersecurity program, Dr. Miri has over 35 years of experience in the field. His research spans cybersecurity, privacy-preserving technologies, cloud computing and big data, computer networks and digital communications. He has developed and delivered numerous courses in these areas and has supervised over 100 highly qualified personnel (HQP).
Professor, Information Technology Management
A Canada Research Chair and founding director of the Cybersecurity Research Lab, Dr. Mashatan is a globally recognized expert in cryptography, blockchain and IoT security. She develops innovative solutions for emerging cyber threats while actively advocating for women in IT through numerous board and advisory roles.
