Khalisah Ahamat
Khalisah Ahamat, Occupational and Public Health MSc student

I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto in Health Sciences and then went on to complete an accelerated BSc in Public health at 91影视. I am currently doing my Master鈥檚 in Public Health in the school of occupational and public health.

My background in public health, mental health outreach, qualitative research, and community engagement has taught me to listen closely, identify the needs of a community, and turn those needs into meaningful action.

In my time at UofT I served as a Board Director for Health Studies, where I represented student perspectives in program and faculty discussions, helped bring student concerns forward, and contributed to initiatives focused on improving the student experience. Further more, I served as the President of my program department - the Health and Society Students鈥 Association where I advocated for students鈥 needs in the program with faculty staff. I worked with the team to organize events to engage and foster community for students within their program.

These experiences taught me that effective student leadership is not simply about speaking on behalf of students鈥攊t is about listening first, building trust, communicating clearly, and following through.
